Jim Tomlinson
Mr.Tomlinson received his Honours Bachelor of Physical Education from York University and his Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. He has enjoyed performing in the ‘Steeling Time’ guitar duo for many years around the Muskoka area. He teaches the guitar program along with Mr. Whiteside.

Jackie Mitchell
Originally from Niagara Falls, Mrs. Mitchell received both her Honours Bachelor of Music and her Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Western Ontario. She received her honours specialist’s degree in music from the University of Toronto. As a student, she studied with the principle flutists from the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Oslo Philharmonic (Norway). She has also studied at Queen’s University and in Switzerland. Teaching in England was a unique experience. Mrs. Mitchell also enjoys teaching her students at Nipissing University.
Mrs. Mitchell conducts the Junior Concert Band, Senior Concert Bands , Jazz Ensemble the Songwriting Club.
Dave Whiteside
Affectionately known as “Whitey”, Mr. Whiteside is a graduate of Queen’s University where he received both his Honours Bachelor of Political Science and his Bachelor of Education degree. For many years, he operated our Guitar club which produced country musicians now living in Nashville with successful careers.
