| Music Camps |
For any of the following camps, students sign up for one week. There are three of the best music camps in our general area; 2 of which run during the last 2 weeks of August and one, our own school board’s, runs in mid-June each year. These camps are suitable for all grade and skill levels. See contact information below. National Music Camp (near Orillia) found at http://www.nationalmusiccamp.com. 2. Interprovincial Music Camp (near Parry Sound) found at http://www.imcontheweb.org. 3. Trillium Lakelands District School Board Arts’ Camp (in Haliburton) at www.tldsb.on.ca. (Find the link to the Arts Camp on the home page, or you may also contact them via email, here.) Scholarships: There are many scholarships available through an additional application—worth looking into! Instructors: The instructors at these camps are either all long-time professionals, or students currently in university/college studying music each having their own expertise on an instrument. Daily routines: The days are filled with several activities in music, sports and other arts activities. Students will of course gain a great deal of knowledge and increased confidence and technical skill on their instruments, but they will also gain independence, friendships and have opportunities to explore in other avenues of interest.
